The summer holidays are nearly over and soon it will be time to return to school, and your child's immune system is put to the test everyday at school. All those kids in close proximity usually gives germs an opportunity to spread. Send your kids back to school with confidence knowing they will stay healthy by following these easy tips.

Washing hands: It’s one of the easiest ways to stop germs from spreading. Tell and teach your kids to watch their hands after using the restroom, before eating, and after playing. 

Pack hand sanitizer: Pack a travel size hand sanitizer in their backpack for them to use when washing their hands isn’t an option.  

No sharing: Tell your kids not to share food or drinks with other kids, especially if they show symptoms of being sick. 

Cover their mouth: They should protect others too from germs so teach them to always cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze. 

Keep hands away from eyes and mouth: Germs live on hands so tell your kids not to touch their face or go near their eyes or mouth until they wash their hands. 

Eat healthy: Eating healthy, balanced meals will keep their immune system strong enough to fight off anything. 

Plenty of rest: Sleep will help boost your child’s immune system whether they are sick or not so make sure they are getting at least 8-9 hours. 

Stay current on vaccinations: Make sure they are up to date on their vaccinations like the flu shot. 

Make sure they have adequate fuel for their busy days. A good diet with plenty of vitamins, nutrients, and protein is incredibly important for everyone, but especially a growing child. It'll help them develop their mind and body, learn more effectively, and stay healthy throughout the school year.
